The Board contacted three sign companies in the Louisville area and requested each to provide their recommendation for signage that would make the neighborhood current with the market. In this request, we asked that each company utilize the existing physical structures in order to control costs. After reviewing the proposals of each company, the Board chose to move forward with Commonwealth Signs. Commonwealth provided a very attractive artistic design as well as the most cost effective solution relative to the other companies.
The signs presented below will be made of aluminum painted with a black high temp automotive style paint designed to stand up to the elements. The colored design overlay is an exterior sign grade laminate. The typical lifespan of this sign is 10+ years. In comparison, our entrance sign and section markers were repainted approximately 5 years ago and already need repainted. The new signs are mounted on the surface of the existing sign and anchored with high strength mounting posts drilled in to the existing structure. We plan to replace the graphic portion of our front entrance sign at LaGrange Rd and Forest Springs Drive along with all of the section markers throughout the neighborhood. The cost of this project will run between $4500-$5000 with no additional expense expected for 10 years. Again for comparison, repainting the existing dated artwork will cost an estimated $3000-3500 based on prior painting invoices and will require additional painting in 5 years or less. Please note that this project was included in the annual budget and will not increase annual dues amounts.
Your board believes this project will improve the overall look of the neighborhood, help attract future home buyers, and benefit property value for years to come. You can see Commonwealth's artistic rendering of the sign by clicking on the links below. If you care to provide any feedback on this project, the board will gladly give consideration to any and all comments. The time-frame for this project is 6-8 weeks from time of order which we hope to provide in the next week or so.
