Drop-Off Sites for Flood Debris
Posted on Apr 13th, 2015

Seven sites, spread throughout the community, are now available for citizens to drop off flood debris at no charge.  The Metro Waste Reduction Center, 636 Meriwether Avenue, will accept residential flood debris Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.  The other six sites will operate Thursday-Saturday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.  The closest site to District 17 residents is the Hubbards Lane Recycling Center, 595 Hubbards Lane.  All of these options will be available until April 25.

This free service is available for residents of Louisville only and does not include commercial haulers.  No construction debris or yard waste will be accepted.  To qualify for free drop-off, residents must present two forms of identification verifying Louisville residency.  If a citizen hires an individual or business to remove debris, the citizen must accompany the hauler to the drop-off center or provide the hauler with the same two forms of identification to present at the facility.  Residents who cannot drop off debris may request pickup service.  Requests of this nature must be sent by email no later than 5 p.m. on April 13 to swmd@louisvilleky.gov.
