Smoke detector batteries should be changed twice a year to insure they operate when you need them. 
 
For those residents that are physically unable to check your detectors or replace your batteries you can contact Captain David Dittmer at 245-7555 or ddittmer@mfpd.org to schedule someone to assist you.  Due to budget constraints we do ask the home owner purchase the batteries before scheduling to have them replaced.
