Flood Debris Drop Off
Posted on Oct 7th, 2013
From Councilman Glen Stuckel's eNewsletter dated Oct. 7, 2013:
Citizens who have damaged household items from the record rainfall this past weekend can take those items to the city's Waste Reduction Center at 636 Meriwether Avenue starting October 8th. There will be no charge, though two forms of identification (a utility bill and a driver's license) will be required to verify residency in Jefferson County. Commercial vehicles will have to pay the normal fees for dumping flood debris or other materials during this period. However, if a citizen hires a business to remove flood debris, he or she can accompany the hauler to the center or provide them with the same two forms of identification necessary for the free service.
This service will run from Tuesday, October 8 until Saturday, October 26. The hours of operation for the free drop off are 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call MetroCall 311 or visit www.louisvilleky.gov.
